Seniors Community Worker

The aim of the Seniors Community Worker is to help people over 65 to live independently by facilitating access to the support they may need in the wider community.

This work includes:

  • Work with Government agencies and community organisations offering socialization and participation activities to maximise existing availabilities and identify gaps.
  • Collaborate with community organisations to provide outreach services to over 65s in the community.
  • Provide some specific services to senior Whangarei Anglican parishioners.
  • Referrals where appropriate.

Seniors Community Worker
Sue has lived in Whangarei for more than 30 years and has been the Seniors Community Worker since March 2013. Her work includes: Providing information on community services available; Facilitating links to appropriate services; Giving information about special interest groups; Exploring with you what your needs are; Providing recommendations that may arise from the assessment; Liaising with church leaders to meet spiritual needs
