Welcome to Whangarei Anglican Care
The Whangarei Anglican Care Centre – Te Whare Oranga (house of well being) offers a range of services to the community in the Whangarei area of Northland, New Zealand.
SERVING THE COMMUNITY
The Anglican Care Centre began as a dream to set in place a ministry of Christian action in practical terms for everyday people – seeking to express love by responding to the needs within the community.
COUNSELLING
Our counsellors offer an affordable, professional service in Whangarei, Dargaville and Ruakaka. All counsellors have appropriate training and are affiliated to, or members of NZAC or NZCCA (the professional counselling bodies).
Self development groups (short term or over a period of weeks) are also offered regularly.
FREE BUDGET ADVICE
Available by appointment for any individuals needing help with money management. We were previously affiliated to NZ Federation of Family Budgeting Services Inc, and all our Advisers trained and certified to the Federation standard of competency. With changes in the Ministry of Social Development we now come under The Building Financial Capability Charitable Trust (TBFCCT). We also offer community education programmes ‘Money Mates’, ‘Chat Room’ and ‘Senior Chef’.
SENIORS COMMUNITY WORKER
The aim of the Seniors Community Worker is to help people over 65 to live independently by facilitating access to the support they may need in the wider community.
HELP IN TIMES OF NEED
As occasions arise, we support and respond to the needs of people in crisis, either by direct help or by referral to other agencies, helping individuals who are in a state of stress or not knowing where to turn.
The Anglican Care Centre has a code of ethics which protects all clients by ensuring confidentiality, competence and respect for individual differences and values.

We are funded by counselling and supporters donations, grants from various charitable trusts, and by a limited contract with the Ministry of Social Development.
